I actually loved that bit in Series 4, which in my opinion was entirely for Arthur and it was great. They show the man behind the warlock, Merlin saved the day sometimes but it was great to see other’s people risking and giving everything for Arthur, the bravery and the sacrifices they’re willing to make for Camelot and Albion (Lancelot, Gaius, Guinevere, even Alator..) And focus on there’s not only the magic which will make Arthur to be the greatest king we know, but the wisdom and loyalty of an ordinary (not so ordinary of course) man. The show is about a king and a warlock, I agree, but it’s also about two men and that’s one of the reasons why I loved Series 4 so much.
